The County Assembly of Tharaka Nithi today at a Special Sitting pursuant to Standing Order 40. (1) on the advice by the Leader of the Majority to the Speaker of the County Assembly on the agenda to deliberate on a report by the Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation on approval of Supplimentary Budget for the Financial year 2022/2023.
The County Assembly thereafter unanimously approved the the First Supplementary Budgets for the County Assembly and County Executive for the Financial Year 2022/2023.
The House also approved the Tharaka Nithi County Supplementary Appropriation Bill, 2023.
It is worth noting that Ministries that have their budgets revised upward include the Ministry of Education, Gender, Culture and Social Services, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation while the Ministry of Energy, Housing & ICT and Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning have their allocation revised downward.
