In line with the provisions of Article 185 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 21 of the County Governments Act, 2012 the County Assembly is in the process of considering the Tharaka Nithi County Finance Bill, 2025; and the Tharaka Nithi County Agroecology Development Bill, 2025.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 196 (1)(a) and (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 as read together with Section 87 of the County Governments Act, 2012 and the Tharaka Nithi County Assembly Standing Order 152, the County Assembly Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriations and the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries had notified the general public that they will be conducting public hearings on the above Bills.

This notice is to inform the public of a rescheduling of the public participation forum on the said Bills. The forum was previously scheduled to run from Wednesday 30th July, 2025 to Friday 1st August, 2025 at 10.00a.m at Marimanti CDF Hall, Chuka Picnic Grounds and Chogoria Sub-County Hall Respectively.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the forum has been rescheduled as follows:

Wednesday 10.00a.m Marimanti CDF hall 6th August, 2025

Thursday 10.00a.m Chuka Picnic Grounds 7th August, 2025 (Kibaroni kwa DC)

Friday 10.00a.m Chogoria Sub- County Hall 8th August, 2025

The committees invites interested members of the public to submit their representations that they may have on the Bills orally in the venues above or through written memoranda.

Written views or memoranda may be hand delivered to the Office of the Clerk or emailed to tharakanithicountyassembly@gmail.com or clerk@tharakanithiassembly.go.ke on or before the close of business 8th August, 2025.

For ease of reference, the Bills may be obtained from the County Assembly website http://tharakanithiassembly.go.ke.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this rescheduling may cause. We encourage all interested parties to attend the rescheduled forum and participate in this important public engagement process.
